From the Inside

The right words & the right marketing mean more participants get the support they need.

A copywriter and marketer who actually lives in the world of disability? Hard to find yet here I am.

I work exclusively with disability providers… and I always will.

Why it’s different here

Most providers get generic copy and marketing advice from AI chatbots or “professionals” who Googled the NDIS.

But here? That’s simply not the case.

My exclusivity in this space isn’t because I took an online course or went down the AI rabbit hole. I’ve been navigating the NDIS for the past 7 years because when your eldest is autistic, so are all her siblings. When her younger brother has complex disabilities, you become fluent in the system and entirely immersed in a whole new world (not the one Aladdin sang about). It just so happens that I’m also a copywriter and marketer.

You attend umpteen appointments and you learn to use words like “proprioception” and “dysarthria” in everyday conversations. You celebrate milestones other parents wouldn’t deem noteworthy and your idea of ‘respite’ is crying in the locked bathroom and cackling at memes on the toilet.

Many other marketers live by the same sets of rules and strategies, but in the disability space, most of those ‘rules’ don’t apply. In this sector, “if you know you know” is one of the greatest and most unique strengths your marketing mentor can have.

This kind of insider knowledge can’t be taught, it has to be lived.

MENTORING & CONSULTING

Strategic thinking from an industry insider.

Being great at your job is important, but it won’t mean much if your business isn’t getting the right people through the door. If you need a great marketing strategist, sales guru, and all-round business head who lives and breathes this industry, you’ve come to the right place.

How it works

"I tried everything. Memberships, podcasts, business coaching, but nothing worked because the disability space is so niched. When I found Jo I knew instantly she could help. The first copy she wrote brought tears to my eyes. She knows my business intimately and I would recommend her for anyone in the disability space who needs help marketing more confidently, especially in a post-NDIS world."

- Every teacher I ever had

Yeah, that was me. Smart, social, creative, quick with a witty retort but barely able to keep track of my own hands. While I’ve certainly grown and matured since those days, the ADHD is very much alive and well.

Back then, when I had no idea I even had ADHD, I tried fighting against my ‘quirks’ because that’s what I was told to do. Now? I’ve learned to manage the tricky ones and embrace the ways my neurodivergence actually helps me. When it’s something I’m passionate about, my focus is incredible. When there are problems to be solved, I’m cooking up solutions that are straight outside the box. When I’m advocating for my family, stand back and hold my earrings. My passion for the disability space stems not just from my experiences as a mother, but also the experiences of my life.
